The exhibition Photografrica / Malowane Mali is a common project of Joann Jankowiak-Delcol and her husband, Patrick Delcol (www.pdelcol.com), held from the 3rd till the 19th of February 2012. The exhibition is sponsored by Polski Druk.

Africa is a continent of contrasts, which interests, intrigues and inspires. From the beginning of February it will be possible to find inspiration in photographs and paintings featuring landscapes of Mali and Senegal, the African countries which are among the poorest countries in the world. The exhibition will be held in Skwer, which is a subsidiary of Fabryka Trzciny, located at Krakowsie Przedmiście street 60a, Warsaw. All presented works will be available for sale. Joanna and Patrick Delcol - the authors of the works, created them within a joint marital project. The total income from the exhibition will support micro Xetic fund from Mali and Senegal.

Mali fascinated us. Colors and variety of this country made us fall in love with it and we decided to share our fascination with others by immortalizing Mali landscapes by means of paintings and photographs - says Joanna Delcol, author of images that will be presented at the exhibition Photografrica / Painted Mali.

This is very poor, underdeveloped country. You will not find rich natural ressources there , that could play a significant role in the national economy. “However, this is fortunate for Mali, as lack of raw materials protects this country from many conflicts affecting this region of the world” - says Patrick Delcol, author of the exhibition photos. Unfortunately, for several months Mali and other poor countries of the region have become a base of terrorist organizations. The real natural wealth of this country is people. Extremely warm, open-minded, who make Mali one of "our" places on the Earth, and therefore we decided to execute this project.

Fascinated by the mix of cultures and landscapes of Mali we decided to help this country and the people living there - says Joanna Delcol.

We decided to support the Xetic fund, a French non-profit organization that collects funds from individuals and supports micro-entrepreneurs in Mali and Senegal giving them cost free loans to start business - says Patrick Delcol. Amounts are not large, because micro-entrepreneurs from Mali do not need much money. Several dozens of Euros enable them to change their life. - adds Patrick Delcol.
The exhibition Photografrica / Painted Mali will be displayed from 3rd February to 19th February 2012 in the Skwer, subsidiary of Fabryka Trzciny at Krakowskie Przedmieście street 60a.
